The Pest-Control Provider Controls the Fumigation Plan
The pest-control provider must determine whether fumigation or another treatment is appropriate, which areas must be accessible, which screen components must be removed, all preparation requirements, treatment and ventilation instructions, reentry instructions, and whether the treatment has been completed. Homeowners should follow that provider’s written instructions. This article and a screen-service estimate do not replace those instructions.
Why Screen Components May Need Removal
A pest-control provider may request clearance where a tent must pass around or connect near an existing screen enclosure. The required screen areas vary by property and fumigation plan. Before screen work is approved, the pest-control provider should identify the exact panels or sections that need to be removed. TD Screen FL should not guess which areas are required.
What TD Screen FL Can Review
Within the screen-service scope, TD Screen FL can review the exact screen panels or sections named for removal, access to those components, visible preexisting mesh or hardware damage, whether an existing component appears reusable, the removal and reinstallation work included in the estimate, and replacement-screen work that may be needed when an existing material cannot be reused.
Any replacement material, matching limitation, or additional repair must be stated in the estimate.
What the Written Screen Scope Should Identify
The screen-service estimate should state the exact enclosure sections included, which components will be removed, which components are expected to be reinstalled, what happens if preexisting material cannot be reused, any replacement material or matching limitation, the required handoff from the pest-control provider before reinstallation, and all work excluded from the screen-service scope.
The estimate should not include or imply pest inspection, fumigation, chemical handling, tent installation, treatment verification, roof work, fascia work, electrical work, landscaping, or structural repair.
Conditions That Require a Stop
Stop for clarification when the pest-control provider has not identified the required screen areas; the requested work includes tenting, fumigants, pest preparation, treatment, ventilation, or reentry decisions; the request includes another trade’s work; preexisting damage makes the screen scope unclear; a material cannot be reused or matched and no replacement decision is documented; or the affected enclosure area differs from the approved estimate.
